The Boorowa line branches out from Galong on the Main Southern Line. It is no longer in use and remains mostly intact.

The town of Boorowa was gazetted in 1850 and the name is thought to come from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘plains turkey’ or ‘bustard turkey’. Boorowa has always relies upon wheat and wool for its economic survival.
