The Lake Cargelligo line branches out from Cootamundra on the Main Southern Line. It passes through towns and locations such as Cootamundra West, Stockinbingal, Temora, Barmedman, Wyalong and Ungarie. Passenger trains no longer run on this line - it is only served by wheat and other freight trains.

There are also small orchards of olives, almonds and cherries. The Timber railway station, which opened in 1st Sept 1893, is one of over 400 such stations built throughout country NSW of which less than twelve survive.
